Pond Water Fountains
Pond aerators are specifically designed to recirculate the pond water, which helps increase that amount of suspended oxygen in the water. Such action will ensure that aquatic animals and plants living in the pond would have enough access to oxygen, thus preventing the pond water to be stratified. The term Stratified (Stratification) means that the bulk of the pond’s oxygen and heat remains near the surface of the water.
There are various kinds of aerators that can be used to prevent stratification. This includes paddle wheels, diffusers, vertical pumps, and pump sprayers. Paddles wheels stir the water with the use of a large paddle wheel. The diffusers pump and diffuse air to the bottom of the pond. On the other hand, the vertical pump and pump sprayers use submerged water pumps to draw water from the pond and spray it over to the pond’s surface.
